Despite the implementation of tier 1 ERP systems, not all regions are using the same ERP. The NTS internal transformation team is currently addressing this transition but had challenges addressing this immediate quote optimization requirement internally.
Accessing the necessary data from SAP or existing excel models to estimate a new client request is challenging. This has forced the team to adopt a first principles approach to new requests, significantly increasing both workload and quote times.
The primary impact for NTS is the loss of opportunities due to the inability to provide immediate quotes to fast moving industry demands.
Solution Objectives
To build a solution that allows for quotations to be produced and submitted within 24 hours from enquiry receipt.
Quotation accuracy must maintain cost accuracy of between 5% +/-
Solution must be secure as is considered company IP
Model must be easily adapted for use across all Global locations
Tyde developed a quote generation tool extracting data directly from the existing ERP system (SAP) and presenting via Power BI.
The solution allows users to immediately select a product (identical or closest match to the RFQ), and automatically generate the BOM, operational activity and related cost.
Users are then able to make additions or amendments to this with ease, before using the automatic quote output template to print/submit the quote.
NTS can now generate a standard quote in 10 minutes.
The quotation team has access to the latest costing and base Bill of materials QTY’s / production activity hours.
The quotation process retains the flexibility for customization as needed.
Centralized data updates eliminate the need for managing siloed data by different regions/users.
User/region-specific access allows for tailored prices, BOMs, products, etc.
The model empowers the NTS team to manage and update the system independently, adding more products as needed for global coverage.
The model is intuitive and user-friendly, supported by training videos for smooth adoption and easy onboarding of new team members.
